Resistance profile of clinical isolates:

Acinetobacter baumannii (AB) is identified as the most critical drug resistant (DR) pathogen by WHO. It is, therefore, imperative that drug resistant determinants and trends of antibiotic resistance are understood across various clinical isolates of AB. It is crucial that the genomic determinants of various clinically resistant phenotypes are consolidated along with detailed annotation so as to understand the entire molecular landscape of drug resistance in AB. Towards this, we have developed a comprehensive repository of drug resistant determinants of AB i.e. ‘CRAB’. It is expected that the genotype-phenotype correlation data on drug resistant determinants of clinical isolates with extensive annotation of AB reference genome makes ‘CRAB’ a unique resource. We believe that this platform will offer a one-stop-shop resource for comprehensive annotation of AB genomes.CRAB consists drug resistance profile of 136 clinical isolates (42 complete genomes and 94 draft genomes). The antibiogram (MIC values according to EUCAST and CLSI standard) for 57 isolates (1 complete and 56 draft genomes) and 333 unique drug resistant determinants with reported resistance mechanisms have also been compiled in CRAB In CRAB, the reference coordinates of the revised reference genome (NZ_CP018664.1) are used to represent manually curated data on 619 essential genes, 81 reported drug targets, 1334 genes with known pathway with 1211 reactions, 221 PDB structures, 118 transcription factors, 4 sigma factors, 14 two component systems with their detailed annotation. The consolidated data has also facilitated the prioritization of 36 potential targets.
